Description

WASTE will be the topic for our next BEN (Business Efficiency Network Forum on Wednesday, 28 March 2018.

The Forum Program can be downloaded HERE.

Heightened press coverage with respect to waste and recycling has been a consequence of industry and governments around the world seeking to understand the implications of China’s August 2017 announcement to restrict import licences on 24 categories of recycled product from beyond its borders and to limit ‘contamination rates’ to less than 0.5% . The so-called Chinese National Sword policy or ‘green fence’ came into effect on 1 January 2018.

This BEN Forum will explore what this changing and dynamic situation means for our businesses and the recycling sector. We will also examine potential opportunities which may result from the changing paradigm. And we will be showcasing companies and their initiatives which distinguish them as leaders in recycling, repurposing, and upcycling across a range of material sectors: in Plastics, E-Waste, Paper & Cardboard, Packaging, Tyres, and Food Waste.

An impressive array of speakers have generously agreed to contribute to the discussion. All are leaders in their respective sectors of the waste management industry and are drawn from state and local government, industry and peak bodies, research and manufacturing.

Registration and welcome refreshments from 8:00am
Forum begins at 8:30am and concludes at 1:00pm, followed by a Buffet Lunch

This is a FREE event sponsored by Hume City Council.
